The Deye SUN-40K-SG01HP3-EU is a 40 kW three-phase hybrid inverter that runs on a high-voltage (HV) battery. With a 160-800 V battery range, 4 MPPTs, a 150-850 V MPPT range and a diesel generator input, it keeps medium and large businesses supplied without interruption.
Key features
- 40 kW rated output, three-phase grid connection.
- 160-800 V high-voltage (HV) lithium battery support: lower current, less heat loss and higher system efficiency.
- 4 MPPT inputs with a 150-850 V MPPT range: strings on different orientations and tilts are optimised separately.
- Diesel generator input: the generator takes over when the grid is down and can also charge the battery.
- Two independent battery inputs, each rated for 50 A charge/discharge current.
- 97.6% maximum conversion efficiency.
- 100% unbalanced output on each phase: every phase can be loaded independently, even with uneven loads.
- IP65 protection: dust- and water-protected wall-mounted enclosure suitable for outdoor use.
Where it is used
- Factory and workshop rooftop plants
- Cold storage facilities and hotels
- Agricultural irrigation and greenhouses
- Commercial buildings that need uninterrupted power

Frequently asked questions
What is a hybrid inverter?
A hybrid inverter manages energy flow between solar panels, the grid and a battery in one device. Generation feeds the loads first, the surplus charges the battery, and critical loads keep running from the battery during an outage.
Does it work with a generator?
Yes. Through the generator input a diesel generator can be brought in during long outages and its energy can be stored in the battery. When solar and battery are not enough, the generator keeps the loads running.
What is the difference between HV and LV batteries?
HV (high-voltage) batteries run at hundreds of volts, so the same power needs less current, thinner cables and loses less heat, which suits larger systems. LV (48 V) systems are common at household scale, easy to expand and cost-effective.
How much battery does a 40 kW inverter need?
It depends on how many hours and which loads you want covered during an outage. Aden Solar lists the critical loads during the site survey, reviews your daily consumption and calculates the required kWh in writing.
