The Deye SUN-8K-SG01LP1-EU is an 8 kW single-phase hybrid inverter that runs on a 48 V low-voltage (LV) battery. With up to 190 A charge/discharge current, 2 MPPTs, a colour touchscreen and an IP65 enclosure, it is designed for homes and small businesses that want backup against outages.

What is a hybrid inverter?
A hybrid inverter manages energy flow between solar panels, the grid and a battery in one device. Generation feeds the loads first, the surplus charges the battery, and critical loads keep running from the battery during an outage.
What happens during a power cut?
When the grid fails, the inverter switches automatically to battery supply; during the day the panels power the loads and recharge the battery. The loads to back up are chosen in the survey and the switchboard is split accordingly.
Can it add a battery to my existing on-grid system?
Yes. With AC coupling this inverter can be retrofitted to a solar plant that already has an on-grid inverter. The panels and the old inverter stay in place, and the system gains a battery and outage backup.
How much battery does a 8 kW inverter need?
It depends on how many hours and which loads you want covered during an outage. Aden Solar lists the critical loads during the site survey, reviews your daily consumption and calculates the required kWh in writing.
